It is all about people doing nothing
“I am only one, but I am still one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do – Helen Keller
Which means that you need to do what you have put off until now and it means you must do something small today to change the world.
Remember the security guard at the gate of your office parking who always smile at you? Today you must find out what his name is.
Remember the guy at the office who do stupid things to draw attention? Maybe today is the day to find out why he is like that by asking the question: “Tell me about yourself?” (only do this if you have the time and the stamina to listen attentively for two hours!)
Remember that bookkeeper at the office who no-one likes because she is so obnoxious? Maybe today is the day to find out what you can do to make her job easier (just ask her) because although you may think she hates people, she only tries to look after the business’ money in the best way she can (which she should)
Remember the old lady at the office who no-one takes seriously because she is so not-cool? Today is the day to find something that she does well and thank her for that.
If you cannot do any of these things for whatever reason – be it because you are so cool, or don’t want your friends to laugh at you, or because it is just too much effort – remember that the world is not as good a place as it could be, not because people do the wrong things, but because people do nothing.
