Teaching children (2)
Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them – James Baldwin
Because this is true, we need to be aware that we must practise what we preach. One way in which I see this happening is in the “new Internet culture” (if you want to call it that), namely the culture of openness, of sharing information, of not being afraid that people will know about me, of giving value before expecting value.
The people of Africa talk very loud, usually when standing on opposite sides of the street! They believe that one should not be afraid that people hear what you are saying, because that illustrates that you are not gossiping (an antisocial habit that weakens the community)
